A forklift glow plug , also known as a heater glow plug, is an engine part used in diesel engines models of forklifts. A glow plug preheats for about 10 seconds before the diesel forklift is cranked. Diesel engines produce the highest amount of pollution during the first minutes after it has been started. The preheating-purpose allows a better ignition and reduces the emission of polluting gasses.
